Greetings!
On behalf of the Sigma Omicron Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Sorority Incorporated®, I welcome you. With a long-standing her-story of sisterhood and service, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® has cultivated thousands of campus and community leaders across the nation and internationally. As a Fall 2024 initiate and new president of the Sigma Omicron chapter, I am excited to discover what this sisterhood means for myself and others. I hope as you browse our website, you gain a feeling of the love the ladies of Sigma Omicron have for not only one another but the campus community of Virginia Wesleyan University and the citizens of Virginia Beach.

Our Purpose
The purpose of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind".
Our Mission
To build allegiance, perpetuate Greek Life, become the most successful undergraduate chapter on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University, and to operate in a manner that brings superior credit to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® by providing support services to selected communities and families, encouraging high scholastic achievement, and implementing premier Alpha Kappa Alpha Programs on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University and its surrounding communities.
